Q&A with Chad Jasinski of Daisy North Jersey

From DIY Beginnings to Smart Home Leader: Chad’s Story with NJ Smart Homes and Daisy
When you walk into a beautifully automated home — where the lights, sound, and entertainment respond to your voice or a tap on your phone — you’re experiencing the kind of lifestyle that Chad, founder of NJ Smart Homes, has been quietly perfecting for years. But like most great ventures, NJ Smart Homes didn’t begin in a showroom or with a slick plan — it started with a movie, a moment of inspiration, and a leap of faith.
A Spark of Inspiration
Chad’s journey into smart home integration began in an unexpected way: with a movie about Steve Jobs. The scenes of tech pioneers tinkering in garages lit a fire in him, making him wonder what could happen if he applied that same energy to the world of home technology. Around the same time, a friend in Florida floated the idea of launching a home automation business together.
Chad didn’t know much about the field — but the idea stuck with him.
The initial business only lasted a few months, but instead of giving up, Chad went solo and launched NJ Smart Homes from his dining room table in New Jersey. His first goal was simple: mount three TVs a day, five days a week — just enough to pay the bills.
Learning by Doing
Armed with a $500 laptop and a CEDIA (Custom Electronic Design and Installation Association) membership, Chad got to work. “I just wanted to mount a few TVs and make rent,” Chad laughs. “I had no idea it would turn into this.”
He spent eight hours a day, every day, diving into online courses and tutorials — teaching himself everything he could about home automation.
The hustle paid off. Within a year, NJ Smart Homes had 155 five-star reviews on HomeAdvisor, a growing customer base, and the need for a van — and eventually, an office. From hanging TVs to handling high-end installations, Chad’s one-man mission had officially become a growing enterprise.
Embracing Growth with Daisy
For a long time, Chad resisted the idea of growing bigger. He liked his tight-knit team and hands-on approach. But over time, he realized growth could mean more than just scaling — it could unlock new opportunities for his team, allow investments in infrastructure, and elevate the client experience.
Enter Daisy.
The partnership with Daisy came at just the right time. With a shared focus on high-value customers and operational excellence, Daisy offered NJ Smart Homes a platform for strategic growth. For Chad, it meant more than just business — it meant attracting top-tier talent, delivering even better service, and working alongside a national network of forward-thinking professionals.
A New Era of Service with Daisy's Support Program
One of the most exciting aspects of the partnership for Chad has been Daisy's support program. For years, NJ Smart Homes struggled with the challenge of long-term service — how do you keep things running smoothly once a project is installed?
Daisy's support program answered that question. With structured service plans, dedicated call centers, and a focus on customer satisfaction, NJ Smart Homes has the ability to offer ongoing support with confidence.
“It’s worth the cost of entry,” Chad says. “It solves one of the biggest pain points we’ve had for years.”
The Projects — and People — That Shape the Future
Some of Chad’s proudest moments come from projects that pushed him to grow. One involved working with a celebrity athlete, a challenge that helped shift his mindset from technician to designer. Instead of simply installing what was requested, he began imagining what could be — creative solutions, hidden features, and technology that enhanced the feel of the home, not just the function.
That creative shift drew in more high-profile clients and collaborative opportunities — cementing NJ Smart Homes’ place in the luxury space. From a samurai-themed house with smoke screens and hidden doors to uniquely integrated entertainment systems, Chad’s designs began turning heads.
Looking Ahead
Chad’s vision for NJ Smart Homes is ambitious: to become the go-to smart home integrator in his region. But he’s not alone. Through Daisy, he’s tapping into a national network of like-minded professionals — sharing insights, resources, and support.
He also wants to give back — to help elevate other branches, share recruitment strategies, and bring more young people into the trades.
“We need to make these jobs attractive,” Chad says. “There’s real opportunity here — but we have to show the next generation what’s possible.”
Life Outside the Smart Home
Despite the fast pace of his professional life, Chad makes time for what matters most. He starts each day reading at least 50 pages — his version of meditation — before the rest of the house wakes up. He plays video games with his daughter, sports with his son, and takes his golden retrievers for walks. And yes, he enjoys driving fast cars.
His favorite piece of tech? His 136” DirectView LED wall in his theater. Paired with a 7.4.2 Dolby Atmos setup, Kaleidescape movie server, and Barco Clickshare, it doubles as a Microsoft Teams Room for long meetings and training. “It’s truly the room I can live in all day long,” he says. “From working projects all over the country to binge watching anime with the family (and dogs) on the couch — it does it all.”
And through all of it, Chad shares the struggles and triumphs of professional life with his beautiful and talented wife, Rosa — the only one he knows who can match his level of hustle day in and day out. “Without Rosa by my side from day one and all of her support, we would have most certainly failed. It’s a true partnership.”
