Nick Mark accepting awards at CEDIA

Nick Mark, President of DC Home Systems, serving MA, ME and NH accepted awards for Best Home Cinema and Best Special Project at the national Home Technology Professionals Award celebration hosted by CEDIA, the industry’s leading conference in residential technology, on September 6th in San Diego. Entries for consideration are judged by acclaimed industry technical experts. The CEDIA Awards, which celebrate the many ways technology enhances the home, recognized the work of DC Home Systems on a national level as leaders in the home technology industry, an ever-growing market for homeowner’s desiring comfort, convenience and simplicity in their home experience.

As part of the awards ceremony, the CEDIA Award Committee also entered DC Home Systems in the global competition (Update-We Won!)-see the article and pictures of the Best Home Theater in the tough global competition here.

Matt Nimmons, managing director at CEDIA EMEA, commented: “We have been overwhelmed with the standard of the submissions this year. The standard increases every year and it’s great to see the amount of professionalism and technical excellence our members continue to offer their clients.”

The relentless commitment to surpassing their established reputation as industry leaders in the Integrated Home Automation Technologies space was validated by a jury of top CEDIA industry professionals, who on September 30th, 2017 in London England, presented the Global Award for Best Home Cinema to DC Home Systems owner Nick Mark and is dedicated team of 20 employees who share equally in all of the company’s achievements.

This recognition came on the heels of DC Home Systems’ win in two categories of the national CEDIA Home Technology Professional Awards just two weeks earlier and was followed by an Award for Design and Engineering presented by the Crestron Technology Awards.

With a starlit ceiling, custom motorized theater seating, and architectural detail, this 1,200 square foot home cinema with seating for 28 with a desire to seat up to 28 people is stunning from an aesthetic perspective. But it is the solutions to daunting engineering and design challenges, acoustic and noise control hurdles, (like an overhead basketball court and adjacent bowling alley) as well as the Pro-grade equipment specification, installation, calibration and integration that truly provided a long-term client with the performance and experience of this Global Award-Winning Home Cinema.

One judge commented that he was even “blown away” by behind the scenes demands like the elegant cable management.“ The client who values the benefits of technology, did not want it to interfere with the theme and aesthetics of the building and was adamant that technology be a simply controlled means to fun, comfort and enjoyment for his family and friends says, “Nick has assembled a team who are not only top-flight professionals with great depth and breadth of talent but are also genuinely nice people. Nick Mark embodies diligence, integrity, accessibility and passion in all that he does.

Yes, the awards and feature in the annual CEDIA Awards 2017 yearbook are exciting accomplishments and even great bragging rights. But that is not the nature of the humble, passionate company leader Nick Mark or the culture of the team that works with such commitment to excellence. It is the acknowledgment that honest hard work, informed decision making, and an infusion of passion, compassion and perseverance pays off in success, an enduring contribution to a community and a solid reputation for integrity.
