I’ve often been called a visionary because I started cyberManor, one of the first custom home technology integration companies in the United States in 1999, focused on using a broadband internet connection, a router, and a network switch to serve as the backbone of what is now commonly referred to as a smart home.
In the heart of Silicon Valley, long before “smart home” became a common phrase, Gordon van Zuiden envisioned a future where technology would seamlessly integrate into daily living. That vision came to life in 1999.
After a thorough but quick acquisition process, cyberManor was fully acquired by Daisy on February 26, 2024. On that date, all of my employees, including me, became Daisy employees. We were Daisy’s second national acquisition. Led by founder and CEO Hagan Kappler, Daisy has a seasoned executive team of 24 people financially supported by an initial round of seed capital.
Daisy’s expands its presence in Northern California with the recent acquisition of A Shade Above. This marks Daisy’s sixth location and highlights Daisy’s ability to expand its density in existing markets and increases its capabilities to serve the highest of high-end customers.
Daisy, the first national smart space installation and services company, today announced a new franchise, located in Sarasota, Florida. This follows the recent acquisition of cyberManor in Los Gatos, California, a 25-year-old custom home technology company known for pioneering the smart home technology industry.
