Welcome to Daisy Kalamazoo! We are proud to carry forward the legacy of Automation Design + Entertainment — a trusted name in smart home automation, entertainment systems, lighting control, motorized shades and smart security and technology integration in West Michigan for over 30 years.
When it comes to the world of modern electronics, there are many different products and technologies that have been sold, presented or hyped. However, one of the many things that we have learned from the past 33 years of working in this high tech industry is that it is not so much about the products or the technology that make a difference, but the people who design, install and implement these products that can make the biggest difference. People who have a passion for pleasing clients, People who have a desire for making things simpler, People who strive to make the technology blend with the design of the home, and People who want to create something that can truly be enjoyed by clients of all ages. This is the Daisy Kalamazoo difference, the People!

Smart Home Automation Solutions In And Around Kalamazoo, MI
Smart home technology should simplify daily life rather than add another layer of complexity. Daisy creates intuitive, integrated smart home systems connecting lighting, climate, security, entertainment, and networking. Kalamazoo homeowners gain reliable whole-property control, eliminating the need for multiple apps and devices. We design custom automation for all Southwest Michigan homes, from historic downtown properties to newer builds in Portage and Gull Lake, ensuring comfort, security, and year-round energy efficiency despite infrastructure differences.
Smart Automation For Michigan’s Changing Seasons
Kalamazoo homes experience wide temperature swings throughout the year, from cold winters to warm, humid summers. Smart automation helps manage these changes by coordinating lighting, climate control, and shading automatically.
Systems can adjust temperatures, lighting levels, and shade positions based on time of day or occupancy, helping maintain comfort while reducing unnecessary energy use. Automation can also support outdoor living spaces such as patios, decks, and backyard gathering areas, keeping lighting and entertainment easy to manage alongside the interior of the home.
Designing Automation Systems For Historic And Modern Homes
Kalamazoo’s neighborhoods include a mix of historic homes, renovated properties, and new construction. Each type of home requires a different approach to technology integration.
In historic houses, Daisy often relies on wireless control systems and discreet infrastructure placement to preserve architectural details. In newer homes or major renovations, structured wiring and centralized equipment allow for robust system performance and easier future upgrades.
Lighting And Comfort Control
Lighting automation allows homeowners to create scenes that adjust brightness and color temperature throughout the day. Morning lighting can support productivity and evening scenes create a more relaxed atmosphere, while automated shades help manage natural light and reduce glare.
Integrated Security And Property Monitoring
Modern automation systems combine security cameras, motion detection, smart locks, and environmental sensors into a single connected platform. Homeowners can monitor activity, review camera feeds, and manage property access directly from their mobile devices.
Security and alarm systems also provide alerts for unexpected activity, helping homeowners maintain awareness whether they are at home or away.
Whole-Home Audio And Entertainment
Automation systems can also coordinate audio and video throughout the home, or in a home theater. Music and entertainment can move naturally between rooms, allowing different areas of the home to operate independently or synchronize during gatherings.
A single control interface manages volume, media sources, and room groupings without switching between multiple devices or apps.
Reliable Networking For Connected Homes
Behind every smart home system is dependable networking infrastructure. Daisy designs Wi-Fi networks that support automation systems, entertainment devices, and everyday internet use across the entire property.
Strategically placed access points maintain strong coverage throughout the home while supporting dozens of connected devices without slowing performance.
The Daisy Approach To Smart Home Automation
Every Daisy project begins with understanding how the property is used and how technology can support the homeowner’s lifestyle. Systems are carefully designed, professionally installed, and fully documented so they remain easy to maintain and expand over time.
Our team also provides ongoing support to keep systems operating smoothly as technology and household needs evolve. The goal is a smart home environment that feels natural to use while delivering reliable performance for years to come.
