Simple, Seamless, and Smart: Daisy Orange County Delivers Tailored Tech for Modern Living

Monarch Bay Project

Smart Living Without the Overload

In an era of expansive smart home capabilities, Daisy Orange County has mastered the art of doing more with less — especially when it comes to practical, personalized technology integration. A recent 4,500-square-foot new build perched atop a Dana Point cliff is a shining example. Rather than overcomplicating the homeowner’s experience with a singular, overarching control system, Daisy Orange County delivered a refined, app-driven smart home designed to be as intuitive as it is robust.

Trust Built Through Partnership

This project was a referral from long-time builder partner, David Gabay, who has entrusted Daisy Orange County with multiple tech integration projects over the years. The relationship proved critical in this case, as the homeowner — an Idaho-based client who rarely visited the jobsite — placed complete faith in Gabay and, by extension, the Daisy team. The lot previously held an existing house that was demolished to make way for a completely new structure.

Client-Centered Technology Choices

From the beginning, the homeowner expressed a desire to integrate technology throughout the house — but with a strong preference for controlling systems independently via native apps rather than a centralized platform.

Whole-Home Audio, Customized for Lifestyle

The result is a smart home that honors the clients' desire for flexibility, simplicity, and entertainment — particularly when it comes to whole-home audio. “The biggest request,” according to the Daisy team, “was music everywhere.” Whether it’s for background ambiance during the day or full-blown entertaining in the evening, music plays a central role in the couple’s lifestyle.

App-Controlled Audio in Every Corner

To deliver this, Daisy Orange County deployed a Sonos multi-zone audio system, controlled entirely through the Sonos app. The system spans 10 distinct listening zones — including the garage, outdoor spaces, and even the hallways. Discreetly installed Sonance speakers blend into the ceilings, preserving the clean, contemporary aesthetic throughout. Outside, two sets of Sonance landscape speakers envelop the yard and spa area with rich, immersive audio.

The homeowners can stream different music in each zone simultaneously and have even curated **seasonal playlists — winter, spring, summer, and fall — **customized to their moods and routines.

Elevated Entertainment in the Family Room

For their primary viewing area in the family room, the owners opted for something equally polished. A 98-inch Samsung Frame TV anchors the space visually, while a 5.1 surround sound system — featuring built-in Focal and Sonance speakers and a JL Audio in-wall subwoofer — is precisely tuned toward the owners’ favorite seating area.

Control is unified through a Control4 Halo remote, offering a streamlined, tactile user experience without introducing unnecessary layers of automation.

Smart Lighting, Thoughtfully Executed

Lighting also received a thoughtful, unobtrusive touch. The Daisy team implemented a Lutron RadioRA 3 system in the family room, master suite, hallways, and outdoor areas. Instead of cluttering the walls with dimmers and switches, control keypads were installed in select locations, while dimmers were tucked into closets and pantries. The system supports pre-programmed scenes and schedules, such as stairway, chandelier, and art lights activating automatically at specific times or with a single Home button press.

Programming That Fits Real Life

Crucially, Daisy Orange County doesn't just install technology — they program it to fit real life. Final scene programming occurred after the home was fully furnished, ensuring light and sound settings matched how the homeowners actually use the space.

Security, Comfort, and Control at a Distance

For security and access control, the team integrated a Ring Elite doorbell and a suite of hardwired Ring Elite cameras, all controlled through the Ring app. When a visitor approaches, the homeowner receives an alert, can see who’s there, speak directly to them, and even unlock the door remotely — a vital feature for a second residence.

Backing the surveillance system is a Qolsys security platform, also app-controlled, giving the homeowners full visibility and control over their home’s safety — whether they’re across town or across the country. Tying into this system are Alarm.com thermostats that automatically adjust based on security settings, offering energy savings and comfort with no added effort.

Collaboration from Start to Finish

All of this was made possible through a highly collaborative process involving the builder, electricians, HVAC specialists, pool contractors, and of course, Daisy Orange County. From the earliest stages of construction through the final scene programming, Daisy was on hand to ensure every element functioned flawlessly and intuitively.

A Smarter Way to Smart Home

This project illustrates a critical point: powerful smart home technology doesn’t have to be monolithic or overwhelming. With thoughtful planning, listening to the client, and leveraging the strength of native apps and trusted partnerships, Daisy Orange County delivered a smart home that’s tailored, tasteful, and totally in tune with its owners.

Whether it’s the soft glow of hallway lights, music drifting into the garage, or an immersive movie night in the family room, the experience is exactly as the homeowner wanted — simple, seamless, and smart.
