Daisy Expands Into Arizona, Acquires Established Michigan Firm

Daisy Expands Into Arizona

The rate at which the team at Daisy continues to expand its footprint is quite honestly fascinating. The boilerplate on the company’s press releases tell you all you need to know: They’re the “fastest-growing national home and small business technology installation services company.” Those efforts to get out in more markets and in front of more consumers continued this week with two big announcements.

First, the firm announced its first-ever franchise in Arizona, opening a location in Scottsdale. That location will be led by Jim Schoene, an electrical, electronic, and security distribution professional with over two decades of experience in the industry.

“Homeowners throughout our region seek innovative solutions for their audio/video, shades, lighting and security needs,” Schoene said in a statement announcing the opening of his franchise. “We’ve built a talented local team and leveraged Daisy’s central support systems to provide clients with not only customized technology solutions, but also ongoing support services. And that’s where Daisy shines—we don’t just create seamlessly connected spaces; we continuously maintain and optimize clients’ homes as both technology—and their lives— evolve.”

That announcement was quickly followed up by another: Daisy acquired Kalamazoo, Michigan-based Automation Design + Entertainment, an award-winning custom integration business owned by industry veteran Peter Cook.

With three decades of experience serving the market and designing high-end technology systems, Cook and his team have a long list of accolades that detail their successes. Among them, they’ve won the Electronic House Home of the Year Gold award, they’ve been honored by the Consumer Technology Association with their Mark of Excellence award, and they’re a regular on the CE Pro Top 100 list. Automation Design + Entertainment is also a CEDIA Certified Electronic Systems Designer and Outreach Instructor, a THX certified home theater designer and instructor, and Cook serves on several committees at the local and national level for the Home Builders Association.

“We’re excited to join the Daisy family to expand our resources and network of skilled integrators,” said Cook in a statement. “Daisy’s M&A capabilities, technology stack, marketing resources, supply chain connections, recruiting and training support, and recurring services expertise are just some of the reasons why AD+E will strengthen and grow in value through this partnership.”

The news this week brings the count for Daisy up to 20 locations across eight states.

“At Daisy, we are building an unrivaled network of smart home technology experts who can provide elevated solutions that exceed our client’s expectations,” cofounder and CEO Hagan Kappler said.

That network has expanded quickly and almost effortlessly due to the company’s strategic approach around acquiring and franchising different locations. Whether launching a new franchise or converting a business into a Daisy franchise, the company says, the goal is to allow their locations to thrive under a “proven model” that gives the owner access to personalized coaching, manufacturer and product savings, technician support, growth initiatives, and more.
